China and South Korea to Jointly Establish International Union of Internet Address March 16, 2009

China Internet Information Center or CNNIC and NETPIA, a South Korean company, have had an in-depth exchange and intimate negotiation over the establishment of Internet standard of internet address, promoting the overall connection and communications throughout the world, and have already reached a strategic intention for cooperation. CNNIC is an institution for the registration management of China internet address, while NETPIA is a Korean developer of internet address technology. This cooperation will be an important milestone in the globalization process of internet address. By this, netizens, when surfing the web, can type key words in their native language directly into the address bar without complicated English-language website address, like www and .com, .net, .biz, edu, .org, .gov, etc.
